DPEM: The DPEM (Decapsulation of Plastic Encapsulated Modules) process offers customers the rugged packaging of ceramic or metal with the generic reliability of a die from a plastic parts manufacturer. This unique DPEM technology can provide a solution that conforms to our customer requirements at a fraction of the cost to new wafer design and fabrication in addition to shorter delivery time. Deliverables will be dice extracted from PEMs and visually inspected to MIL-STD-883 visual criteria and/or custom assembled hermetic parts with extracted dice and certifications as applicable.
RF Testing, Screening and Qualifications: Testing and evaluation of RF parts in accordance with applicable Customer specifications and standards. Design and build of high frequency test fixtures and burn-in boards are performed in-house for customer traceability and engineering source inspection. Source Inspection is made available for auditors as well as customer engineering personnel during critical RF parametric testing. Certification of test results with data package as applicable to tests performed, documenting quantities in the lot accepted and rejected will be shipped to customer as deliverables. Obsolete Parts Replacement: Perform review of obsolete part specification, recommend closest available part substitution. Generate test plan or assembly drawing to custom package and/or upgrade part to required quality and reliability level. Deliverables are new specification and replacement parts of same form-fit-function meeting new specification for procurement. Available also is our unique patented DPEM Solution for obsolete die/wafer to provide a cost effective method to obsolescence.
Counterfeit Analysis: Validation of subject parts provided by customer to be manufacturer as claimed, or as counterfeits. Process and deliverable are similar a combination of Failure Analysis and DPA above as applicable, except the parts are from actual production lot provided by customer. Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA): EEE parts Samples analyzed in accordance with applicable DPA specifications and standards such as MIL-STD-1580, SSQ25000, and MIL-STD-883. Parts analyzed and physical results photo-documented in a DPA Report with accept or reject to the specific lot date code of parts. Electrical or environmental test results as required will be included in the report. Certification, lot traveler, report and parts will be shipped to the customer as deliverables. Reports can be emailed as requested.
Component Testing and Screening: Testing and evaluation of EEE parts in accordance with applicable customer requirements, military specifications and standards. All test software, hardware, burn-in boards design and fabrication are performed in-house. Lot traveler detailing electrical, environmental, mechanical and qualification tests performed, quantity tested, sample size of qualification subgroups, anomalies found will be part of the variables and attributes data package. After receiving a prime contract from the U.S. Air Force for Program Management and component engineering services to obsolete parts, the company built a 40,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Simi Valley, California and became DPA Components International. The facility was designed and built from ground up to provide manufacturing, test and analytical services within as a comprehensive parts reliability center under one roof.
DPA Labs, Inc. started in Burbank, California, was the culmination of 3 electronic engineers, Ming, Douglas and Philip Young while working in the Southern California aerospace industry.
Started in the late 70's, the company was created to support the increasing military and aerospace needs of national security and space exploration for the reliability of EEE parts in manned critical missions.
For over 35 years DPACI has been a key provider of testing and analysis
of electronic parts for mission critical systems in the aerospace, space and
military industry. In addition to Turn-Key Solution of innovative electrical, electromechanical, electronic (EEE) parts solutions, today the company is manufacturing standard QML memory products, providing custom
packaging, qualification, screening, counterfeit analysis and its own
patent-pending DPEM (De-capsulate Plastic Encapsulated Module)
process for obsolete parts.
Today DPACI is DLAM qualified, DMEA Trusted Source to provide Turn-Key EEE Parts Solutions with QML Q (military) and V (space) level manufacturing in accordance with MIL-PRF-38535. The standard manufacturing product DPACI offer is listed in the QML Memory Products section of this web site. DPACI is also DLAM certified for Mil-Std-883 and Mil-Std-750 Test Lab Suitability and a DMEA Trusted Source.

Failure Analysis: Perform analysis on failed devices per customer to determine failure mode and if possible, root cause. A failure analysis report with test methods per specification, analysis methodology, electrical or environmental test data, photo-documentation and conclusion will be made with technical explanation of failure mechanisms. Deliverables will be the analyzed devices with the failure analysis report and a certification of test and analysis performed.
